Any contribution you are able to make will directly benefit Michigan’s children and our ability to provide critical services to children in need.  We immensely appreciate any support you are able to offer.

MACED desperately needs to raise an additional $350,000 each year to provide critical assistance to thousands of Michigan’s children.  Fifteen years ago, MACED received $250,000 from United Way of Michigan, now that amount is only $100,000, including a $30,000 grant awarded recently for the Kalamazoo office.  The dramatic drop is due to changes in funding priorities that have affected all statewide agencies.  The current budget is $350,000 that includes the United Way allocation, two government grants for the Kalamazoo office, membership dues, private contributions, and a grant from the Detroit Automobile Dealers’ Association/Community Foundation in the amount of $35,000 for the juvenile justice project.  Renewal of the grant is dependant on our ability to ensure the future expansion of the project.  MACED is actively seeking additional foundation grants.

Funding is needed for critical staff, including:

One full-time master’s level social worker for crisis intervention in the Southfield office

One full-time master’s level social worker for the juvenile justice project

One full-time project director/pro bono coordinator for the juvenile justice project

One full-time public policy analyst/researcher

One full-time master’s level social worker for Kalamazoo to enable that office to serve counties outside of Kalamazoo County

Two part-time master’s level social workers for work in Outstate Michigan
