Your support as a member of MACED is critically important to the Association.  Your support is needed more than ever—even more than 44 years ago when a group of parents and mental health professionals founded the Association—fewer services are available today in the public and private sector for children with emotional disorders.

Did you know that only 7% of statewide expenditures for mental health is spent on children with emotional disorders, one-half of the figure a decade ago, and in Oakland County that figure is only 3%

Did you know that 65% of children in juvenile detention facilities have a diagnosable emotional disorder, 35% suffer from a serious psychiatric disorder; and that this alarming increase corresponds with reduction in the number of state psychiatric beds and residential placements in the mental health system.

Our staff provides professional, critical interventions to families desperate to find and secure treatment and services for their children.  Over 1500 families are provided direct service each year and countless others receive the benefit of our public policy work.  The public health system has become more complicated and difficult for individuals to negotiate without assistance; a professional staff and well-informed citizen members are essential to ensuring that children receive quality care.

There will be many challenges this year, and with your assistance we will be able to further help children with emotional disorders and their families.

We value your membership in the Association—we cannot continue our work without your support.  Please click on the link above to use our online membership sign-up form.  If you are already a MACED member please consider upgrading your membership to the next level.  Only through your increased support can we increase our support for Michigan’s forgotten children.  On behalf of the children we represent, we thank you for your support.
